Learners will need to complete our training skills for trainers day before they attend any of our Train the Trainer course days. Please note that this is only compulsory if you have never attended one of our Train the Trainer course days before. You do not need to complete our training skills day if you have already attended.
‘Person-Centred’ planning is a distinct method of assessment, planning and reporting that is devised for health and social care workers. If you are responsible for someone else’s health care programme, you need to be sure that you are making the best decisions based on the most important information available to you.
Health and social care workers often have the responsibility of devising a care plan for individuals who need support. This method of planning allows you to take into account more than a person’s immediate needs; it involves every aspect of their circumstances, personality and life context.
This course covers the entire process from assessment to drawing up a comprehensive, effective care plan for a person at risk in your care. You will learn how to apply recognised standards, guidance and recommendations to fulfil your role with good practice. At the end of it, you will have the confidence and knowledge to write a quality care plan for those in your care.
During the session, you’ll cover:
The definition of person centred care
Explain how to implement a person-centred approach
Describe what consent is and its importance when delivering care support
Demonstrate how to encourage active participation
Show how to support an individual’s right to make choices
Describe how to promote an individual’s well-being.
This half-day course comprises an engaging mix of activities with fellow learners (maximum fifteen delegates). You’ll be asked to complete a simple multiple-choice assessment after you take the course. You will receive a certificate once you have passed the assessment.
