Overview

Training your staff to handle objects reduces your employees’ risk of injury and keeps your company’s costs down in the long run. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations place a duty on every employer to reduce the potential injury from manual handling operations.

This course will provide you with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to enable them to safely lift and handle loads in accordance with the principles of safe handling.

This course takes 30-45 minutes to complete. It comprises a mixture of engaging activities. Once the course is completed, you will be asked to complete a multiple-choice assessment. You will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.

Objectives

• Demonstrate an understanding of moving and handling and the laws governing manual handling.
• Understand how to lift at height and using aids safely
• Explain the 8 principles of movement and handling
• Understand how to protect your spine and the extent of handling injuries
• Take part in the practical application of theory to safely move an object.
