Course Description
Overview
Positive behaviour support course supplies you with the capability to support a person who may display behaviours that can be challenging with the support and attention they may need. You can understand the reasons behind their behaviour and consider what a person has been through, such as life history, physical health, and emotional needs.
This course takes 30-45 minutes to complete. It comprises a mixture of engaging activities. Once the course is completed, you will be asked to complete a multiple-choice assessment. You will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
Objectives
- Understand how to promote positive behaviour within the workplace settings
- Have an awareness of David Pitonyak and how to implement his findings in the workplace
- Understand what the hotel model is and its negative impact on care services, and why we would use active support instead
- Understand person-centred care and how to implement in the workplace
- Know how to create positive behaviour support and what they include.
