Course Description
A CQC review highlighted that too many people living in care homes are not being supported to maintain and improve their Oral Health. The report found that three years on from the publication of the NICE guideline, oral health in care homes is still not a priority.
This course will better help delegates understand and assist individuals with basic oral hygiene and recognise any issues individuals will have, such as dental diseases. It will also provide strategies for staff when supporting an individual with dementia or behavioural issues around oral hygiene and will also offer an understanding of the NICE guidelines and CQC recommendations.
The course itself is a 3-hour course with a maximum of 15 delegates. As a cost-effective package, 2 courses can be run in one day, allowing up to 30 staff to be trained to meet current CQC recommendations.
You will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
