Course Description
In a place of work that requires you to prepare and cook food in a workplace, UK law states that it is part of your job to be adequately trained in food safety and hygiene to acceptable legal standards. Proper practice is critical because food hygiene is generally accepted, but the food handler often needs help understanding the types of diseases that may be food born.
During this course, you will learn;
- Knowledge of common bacteria and viruses
- Which diseases are food born
- The cause and prevention of food poisoning
- A guideline to temperature
- How to prevent cross-contamination
- Personal hygiene
- Pest Control and pests specific to food
- How to clean and disinfect a work area thoroughly
- What the law says and workers’ responsibilities
This course is a half-day course. It comprises a mixture of engaging activities. Once the course is completed, you will be asked to complete a simple multiple-choice assessment. You will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
