Course Description

This course is available in a half day or a full day course.
Half-Day
- Aims of a First Aider
- Discuss how to prioritise treatment – what to look for first
- Practice how to deal with an unresponsive casualty
- Demonstrate how to resuscitate a casualty by CPR – including details on AED
- Explain how to recognise and deal with shock
- How to manage or dress different types of wounds and stem bleeding
- Demonstrate treatment for life-threatening conditions such as choking, strokes and heart attacks
Full-Day
- All half-day activities plus;
- The do’s and dont’s of responding to burns and scalds
- Show an understanding of diabetes and related complications
- Wats to keep records of treatment and casualty progress
- What to include in first aid kits
Once the training is completed, you will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
