Aims of a First Aider
Discuss how to prioritise treatment – what to look for first
Practice how to deal with an unresponsive casualty
Demonstrate how to resuscitate a casualty by CPR – including details on AED
Explain how to recognise and deal with shock
How to manage or dress different types of wounds and stem bleeding
Demonstrate treatment for life-threatening conditions such as choking, strokes and heart attacks
Full-Day
All half-day activities plus;
The do’s and dont’s of responding to burns and scalds
Show an understanding of diabetes and related complications
Wats to keep records of treatment and casualty progress
What to include in first aid kits
Once the training is completed, you will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
