Course Description
Understanding the language to communicate effectively and encouragingly is key to a positive and successful workplace. It is vital for a health and social care worker to display good communication with colleagues, individuals you support and their families. Trust plays a very important role in the relationship between carer and individual; without communication, you cannot build it effectively.
This course will help you gain high communication skills in your health and social care environment. You can use and adapt your newfound knowledge to your specific circumstances.
This course will strengthen your communication skills and supports QCF and SHC 21 and the Care Certificate Standard 6
During the session, you'll cover the following:
- The true nature of communication and why it is so important
- How to identify different types of communication
- The common barriers to effective communication
- Practical, achievable communication skills
- A knowledge of effective communication skills and which form to choose in a given work situation
- How to identify aids to clear communication
- Understanding UK legislation regarding your role in establishing communication.
This course is a half-day course. It comprises a mixture of engaging activities. Once the course is completed, you will be asked to complete a simple multiple-choice assessment. You will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
