This course is available as a half or full-day Level 2 course, but also as a Level 3 Train the Trainer course, allowing you to train your own staff internally. It comprises a mixture of engaging activities including all practical elements required.
As a health or social care worker, you may be called upon at some stage to assist people in moving when they cannot manage to do so on their own. This course equips you with the confidence and all you need to know to help yourself and the individuals you support. Rules and regulations surround moving and assisting people, including clear, simple ways to ensure you perform your role to the utmost of your ability and avoid bad practices.
This course emphasises the need for accurate risk assessments in the workplace and allows you to practically demonstrate the use of moving and handling equipment. When you see what and where the obstacles are, you will be in a better position to anticipate where your support will be needed. With your new knowledge of the philosophy and anatomy of the spine, you’ll be able to decide which lifting manoeuvres you need to use ahead of time that will be of the most help to those you support.
