Overview
Dementia is defined as a range of progressive neurological symptoms that cause long-term problems, including memory loss and general cognitive impairment. Each person living with Dementia experiences a different journey, with the Dementia causing a gradual decline that can eventually affect everyday functioning.
This course is designed to support learners with the skills and knowledge to identify and describe types and signs of Dementia, while supporting someone living with Dementia to live as independently and comfortably as possible.
This course takes 30-45 minutes to complete and comprises a mixture of engaging activities with theoretical knowledge, enhancing learners’ understanding of what Dementia is, the different types of Dementia, and how individuals experience Dementia in differing ways.
Upon completion of the course, there will be a multiple-choice assessment and once achieved, a certificate of acknowledgement will be presented.
