Overview
Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological condition that causes mobility, sensory and psychological problems. Symptoms vary from person to person, with medication being one of the more effective methods of managing Parkinson’s symptoms. There is currently no known cure for Parkinson’s Disease.
This course is designed to support staff with the knowledge of what Parkinson’s Disease is, how it affects the brain, what the common symptoms are and how best to support someone experiencing such symptoms.
This course takes 30-45 minutes to complete and comprises a mixture of engaging activities with theoretical knowledge, enhancing learners’ understanding of Parkinson’s Disease and the most effective, individualised methods of supporting an individual living with Parkinson’s.
Upon completion of the course, there will be a multiple-choice assessment and once achieved, a certificate of acknowledgement will be presented.
