Coming across an individual that struggles with epilepsy in your care is not uncommon. You are required to recognise subtle symptoms and anticipate possible acute, physical reactions. The neurological disorder is triggered by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, and it is essential that you know how you can best anticipate seizures.
An individual may suffer from sporadic or frequent convulsions, sensory interruptions and even loss of consciousness. Sometimes warning signs can tell you if a seizure is imminent. When you know these and have developed strong and open communication with the individual, you’ll be better placed to deal with the outcome.

This course is available as a half or full-day course. It comprises a mixture of engaging activities. Once the course is completed, you will be asked to complete a simple multiple-choice assessment. You will be given a certificate to acknowledge the passing of the course.
