Moving & Handling of Objects

Training your staff to handle objects and people safely can reduce the risk of injury for your employees and keep your company's costs down in the long run. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations place a duty on every employer to reduce the potential injury from manual handling operations.

This course will provide learners with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to safely lift and handle loads in accordance with the principles of safe handling.

During the session, you'll cover:
Demonstrate an understanding of what moving and handling is and the laws that govern manual handling
Understand how to safely lift at height and using aids
Explain the 8 principles of movement and handling
Understand how to protect your spine and the extent of handling injuries
Safely take part in practical application of theory to safely move an object.

This training is available as a full or half-day course and comprises practical work and theory shared with fellow learners. You’ll be asked to complete a simple multiple choice and practical assessment after you take the course. You will receive a certificate once you have passed both assessments.
