Understanding the law is crucial for any business involved in food preparation and delivery. This course equips you with all you need to know.
From its preparation to the point of delivery, food must be handled to the highest of hygiene measures. If you work with food daily, you need to be properly instructed in all aspects of food safety and hygiene.
This course will give you all that you need to know regarding UK law surrounding food hygiene and what is expected of you in your handling of it in your position of care.
The reasons for the importance of food hygiene are generally accepted, but the types of diseases that may be food borne are not often understood by the food handler. If you have the responsibility of preparing food for somebody in your care, then this course is for you.
During the session, you'll cover:
A knowledge of common bacteria and viruses
Which diseases are food borne
The cause and prevention of food poisoning
A guideline to temperature
How to prevent cross-contamination
Pest control, and pests specific to food
How to clean and disinfect a work area thoroughly
What the law says, and the worker’s responsibilities.
This half-day course comprises an engaging mix of activities with fellow learners (maximum fifteen delegates). You’ll be asked to complete a simple multiple-choice assessment after you take the course. You will receive a certificate once you have passed the assessment.
