End of Life
The session provides the skills required to identify and manage End of life Care and After Care Support. The course acknowledges staff experiences with end of life care, helps to understand what care is required of different staff groups and why. How services can provide high quality end of life care services, including the importance of hydration. The importance of communication with the individual and all those involved in end of life care including the family.
Recognise when a service user is nearing the end of life or has died and accessing bereavement care where needed.

This session will explain what is meant by diabetes and help to understand diabetes in a social care environment. The course content will discuss signs and symptoms of diabetes, explain good diabetic health including eye and foot care. Discuss and highlight treatment options and the importance of early diagnosis, describe how to respond to a diabetic emergency and show the links between diabetes and other conditions.
